[Bookmarkdd] Bookmarks Lost

It's not just that all my bookmarks have been lost after installing the new Firefox 2.0 and 2.0.0.1. Now the Bookmark function is totally unuseable. It will not add any new bookmarks. I've tried re-downloading, re-installing. Uninstalling, then re-installing. Nothing works. This used to be a good system. The new stuff has messed it up. It is now so unuseable I'm forced to go over to Internet Explorer just to do some bookmarking! Ugh! I can't go through re-programming or whatever.  With my low tech, that will probably mess things up even further. Is there some way I can escape this new "improvement" and get back to the old Firefox that worked?
