Installation: http://adblockplus.org/en/installation Major changes * New Preferences dialog layout makes adding new filters easier * Filter changes can be applied without closing Preferences dialog * Toolbar icon?s tooltip gives a quick overview about activity on the current page (number of blocked items, total number of items, most applied filters) * Toolbar icon indicates a whitelisted page * Exported filter lists contain the minimal required Adblock Plus version * Subscription download respects HTTP headers like "Last-Modified" and "Expires" Detailed changelog: http://adblockplus.org/en/changelog-0.7.1 From ben_lado at msn.com Tue Jul 4 10:40:20 2006 From: ben_lado at msn.com (benjamin do) Date: Tue Jul 4 03:41:52 2006 Subject: [AdblockPlus] (no subject) Message-ID: I have a problem with mozilla, I have many pop up which displays, thus I have install adblock plus but pop up always opens and there is nothing in pop up, I shall like knowing how is that pub does not open any more. _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live Mail : d?couvrez et testez la version b?ta ! http://www.ideas.live.com/programpage.aspx?versionId=5d21c51a-b161-4314-9b0e-4911fb2b2e6d From trev at gtchat.de Tue Jul 4 11:34:16 2006 From: trev at gtchat.de (Wladimir Palant) Date: Tue Jul 4 04:35:09 2006 Subject: [AdblockPlus] (no subject) In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <44AA2808.5060303@gtchat.de> benjamin do wrote: > I have a problem with mozilla, I have many pop up which displays, thus I > have install adblock plus but pop up always opens and there is nothing > in pop up, I shall like knowing how is that pub does not open any more. Adblock Plus is *not* a popup blocker. There is a popup blocker built-in that works pretty good most of the time. If you have Firefox 1.5 then you'll find popup blocker settings under Tools / Options / Content. Make sure "Block Popup Windows" is checked, also click "Allowed Sites" and check that you didn't put anything wrong there. regards Wladimir From ben_lado at msn.com Tue Jul 4 12:17:25 2006 From: ben_lado at msn.com (benjamin do) Date: Tue Jul 4 05:18:59 2006 Subject: [AdblockPlus] (no subject) In-Reply-To: <44AA2808.5060303@gtchat.de> Message-ID: >From: Wladimir Palant >Reply-To: adblockplus@mozdev.org >To: adblockplus@mozdev.org >Subject: Re: [AdblockPlus] (no subject) >Date: Tue, 04 Jul 2006 10:34:16 +0200 > >benjamin do wrote: >>I have a problem with mozilla, I have many pop up which displays, thus I >>have install adblock plus but pop up always opens and there is nothing in >>pop up, I shall like knowing how is that pub does not open any more. > >Adblock Plus is *not* a popup blocker. The built-in popup blocker blocks unrequested popups - but some sites started showing popups when you click a link (this counts as an action where showing a popup is valid). Methods of preventing it depend on the actual site, it should be possible with specialized GreaseMonkey scripts. regards Wladimir From antonio_baeza at terra.es Tue Jul 4 18:45:31 2006 From: antonio_baeza at terra.es (adum) Date: Thu Jul 6 06:56:27 2006 Subject: [AdblockPlus] (no subject) Message-ID: <44AA8D1B.9000306@terra.es> @benajamin do: if you see "empty" popup windows probably they are not real popups, but javascript popups (inserted in the HTML code of the page, for this reason Firefox does not block them) which are empty because AdblockPlus is blocking the ads which usually are displayed into them. You cannot block (not download) these windows, but only "hide" (not show) them using *element hiding* (see more information in FAQ). You will need a filter like #div(postit) , it will depend on the page. Filtersets including element hiding are not yet usual (the only one I know is http://mysite.verizon.net/rick752/adblock/easylist-element_rick752.txt ), but you can also try by yourself checking the page with the DOM inspector or ask for help in the forum. I really miss it! Thank you. Adblock Plus works perfectly fine with Firefox 2.0b1. Unfortunately the new AMO policy doesn't allow me to specify compatibility for versions that haven't been released yet. Bringing out a minor release only to show that it is compatible with a beta release should be an overkill I think. You can follow the instructions in this post to make sure you can still install Adblock Plus: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=2361526#2361526 regards Wladimir From kristian.karden at gmail.com Thu Jul 13 00:47:16 2006 From: kristian.karden at gmail.com (Kristian Karden) Date: Wed Jul 12 16:48:06 2006 Subject: [AdblockPlus] Firefox 2.0b1 In-Reply-To: <44B55384.7030702@gtchat.de> References: <44B55384.7030702@gtchat.de> Message-ID: Dear Wladimir, Thank you very much for your answer. Wladimir, what Jonathan is wanting to do is allow multiple ad sites for one site only but not for other sites. As far as I can see, Adblock Plus is an all or nothing approach which is what it should be (I can't imagine using SeaMonkey without it). Please correct me if I am wrong.
