|
This list is used to discuss TrustBar, a browser extension that improves the security indicators of browsers. TrustBar identifies sites by logo or name (usually selected by the user, aka `petname`). It also displays a clear indication of whether the site has been identified securely (using the SSL/TLS protocol) or only identified by the use of a specific domain (URL), which is subject to various attacks (e.g. pharming). Finally, for sites identified securely (by SSL), it shows who identified the site (the `CA`), again by logo or name. Future releases will display additional credentials. We hope TrustBar will help prevent site spoofing and phishing attacks, and allow users to identify sites and validate credentials (seals, etc.) claimed by sites. TrustBar provides immediate benefit to end users. Use this list to comment on the ideas and implementation. For more details see http://AmirHerzberg.com/TrustBar.
