Pete,
I cc'd myself on the bug as you advised; however, I
suspect that this is actually a Mozilla bug, specifically,
with the implementation of nsISound play() and its
handling of the file:/// protocol. I thought that if you or
any other list members could confirm that this is a
legitimate bug, I would file a bug at Mozilla.org, since
I didn't see any reports there for this issue when I
searched yesterday. (I did notice though that there
are several new/outstanding bugs filed for problems
playing .wav files with nsISound under Linux). On the
other hand, maybe mine is just a permissions problem?
Incidentally, I'm using Mozilla 1.2.1 on Win2K...
Thanks,
Charles
