Project tagging inteface

Projects can be tagged with keywords to aid users in finding your project. Tags help users who are browsing for a certain type of project and in help the user in recognizing what they are searching for (not necessarily by remembering a keyword or phrase).

XPI files in /download directories are automatically scanned and assigned tags based on information in install.rdf files, but this information is limited to supported applications and other general information (more information).

Recommended tags include whether your project is an application, theme, or extension; the name of the application it works with (eg, "Firefox", but not "Firefox 1.5"), the type of application component (bookmarks, attachments, history), or the user's task or goal (find, share, forward). Tags should not be unique to your project and should not be confused with "search keywords".

New tags will go through an approval process and will show up once approved.

Only active projects will show up in the project tag list.

Tag Approval Policy

Mozdev tries to approve only tags that are relevant or could be relevant to multiple projects and tags whose meaning/value do not change over time. If Mozdev.org staff decides that your submitted tags do not match this criteria they will not be approved. If you have questions about your project tags, please let us know directly.
